Laune Library will serve customers until 31 December 2025. For practical service matters, please follow these instructions.
You can place reservations to Laune Library until 11 December. The last day to pick up reserved items from Laune Library is 19 December. After that, please choose another library as the pickup location for your reservations.
If a reserved item does not arrive at Laune in time, its pickup location will automatically be changed to Renkomäki Library. We recommend that customers update their pickup location themselves in the Lastu online library to the library they plan to use in the future. Library staff will assist if needed.
Part of Laune Library’s collection will be transferred to other libraries during January.
In southern Lahti, customers of Laune Library will be served by Renkomäki Library, Liipola Library, and the mobile library. In southwestern Lahti, Kärpänen Library will serve customers. The main library and other local libraries in Lahti – Ahtiala, Jalkaranta, Mukkula, and Nastola – are also available.
Renkomäki Library will host Uusien illat (Newcomers’ Evenings) event on 21 October and 16 December from 18:00 to 19:00. Customers transitioning from Laune are invited to learn about the services the library offers today and what can be done in a self-service library.
Laune Library will host a Kirjastomuistoja Launeelta (Library Memories from Laune) evening on 13 November, where memories from Laune Library over the years will be shared and the importance of a local library will be discussed together.
In autumn 2024, the Wellbeing and Leisure Committee unanimously decided to close Laune Library as of 1 January 2026.
