On Tuesday evening, November 25, computers used for customer service were stolen from Orimattila Library. The theft was discovered the following morning, and the computers were wiped remotely.
Based on preliminary investigations, the shared customer database of the Lastu libraries has not been compromised, and no data breaches have occurred. We have also taken all necessary measures to ensure that the stolen computers will not have access to the database in the future.
The City of Lahti has fulfilled the data controller’s statutory obligations by reporting the matter to the Data Protection Ombudsman's Office.
