Kirjan Kiertorata -Book Recycling Service open at Lahti Main Library until May 31st

A book recycling service, Kirjan Kiertorata, has opened at Lahti's main library. The fundraiser by donating, which encourages sustainability, is open until the end of May.

Kirjan Kiertorata is part of a development project initiated by the Orimattila-based antiquarian bookstore Finlandia Kirja, which aims to build a nationwide recycling network for used books. You can find the Kirjan Kiertorata donation box near the entrance to the main library's auditorium. You can donate all kinds of literature, regardless of topic, genre, or binding. Comics and entire magazine volumes are also accepted.

Please note that encyclopedia series or their parts, as well as books stored outdoors, with odor issues, or completely broken, are not accepted. Additionally, donations of more than 200 books cannot be brought to the box. For such large deliveries, please contact Finlandia Kirja directly to arrange delivery.

The donation point provides plastic bags for packing the books. There are also forms to attach to the shipment. After filling out the voluntary donation form, recyclers can receive an email value report for books suitable for antiquarian resale and a 10% reading voucher based on the online store price of these books. The reading voucher can be used as a payment method at www.finlandiakirja.fi.

Finlandia Kirja is Finland's largest independent bookstore, employing nearly 40 people. Through its online store, Finlandia Kirja serves a wide range of literature enthusiasts and maintains to the principles of sustainability and sustainable development, which Lahti libraries also support.
