Lahti Main Library

At the digitizing stations of the Lahti Main Library Music Department you can transfer your videos from VHS video tapes to DVD. Videos can be edited in an editing room with the Cyberlink Powerdirector 16 editing program. In the editing room you can also digitize and edit photographs, slides and photo negatives. It may be reserved for three hours at a time. The Music Department is located on the second floor of the Main Library.

Our staff provides guidance in using the equipment.

You can book a time slot for digitizing and editing at the Music Department service desk or by calling 044-4163517.

Digitizing Recordings

The Main Library Music Department also has a digitizing station where you can convert vinyl records or audio cassettes into CD.

The digitizing station has a CD record/audio cassette recorder, vinyl player and headphones. The vinyl player plays records at 33 and 45 rpm. You can use your own CD-R or CD-RW disc or buy a disc at the Music Department service desk. The staff of the Music Department will help first-time users get started, but after that you may use the digitizing station on your own. You may bring with you the material you would like to digitize or use items owned by the library.

The digitizing station can be used during the Main Library’s opening hours. It may be reserved for 1-4 hours at a time at the service desk or by calling 044-4163517.
