Information about the Lastu Libraries Closure
Because of the coronavirus epidemic, all Lastu libraries were closed on 18 March and stay closed until further notice. The self-service libraries have also been closed, and the mobile library is not operating.
No overdue fines are charged for material that is due during the time the libraries are closed. If you so wish, you can renew the items you have on loan. If there are reservations for these items, they cannot be renewed. You can keep them until the end of the library closure or return them in the outside book drop.
You can renew material in The Lastu Web Library, on the library’s Chat service, by phone or email. After 17 March, the due date for material renewed has been 4 May.
Reserved material that is awaiting pick-up is not available to customers during the closure. So, there is no charge for not collecting such material within a week, as is normally the case. The reserved items awaiting pick-up are held through the closure period and seven days after the libraries open again.
Because renovations will begin in the Main Library storage area in April, material in the storage can only be reserved until the end of March. The reserved material is held in the Library and can be collected after the Library closure.
We are sorry for the inconvenience caused by the Library closure.
